The roofscape provides a precious connection to the outdoors on this tight suburban site employ as many natural systems as possible such as natural shading, day lighting and natural ventilation save water by employing a cistern, planters, gardens, a porous driveway, a rain garden, site captured water and drought resistant plants provide flexible interior spaces. By re purposing and re configuring the three multipurpose spaces the house converts a house with one-bedroom to one with four-bedrooms. The entire first floor is 100% ADA adaptable, visitor accessible and allows for aging in place reduce our carbon impact by using super insulation, geothermal wells, radiant heating, exterior louvers, a solar array and recycling demolition materials open the project to the public as a teaching tool. Public awareness tours have been held periodically since its completion.
