Project Description
Vidhita Raut is a young fashion designer in Mumbai, India. The design intent behind the store was to create a white canvas, which the designer could fill in with a range of colours and shades, without worrying about her attires standing in the way of the colours used within the interior spaces.
The store is a 1100 sq. ft. duplex adorned with a focus point: a fairy tale like spiral staircase that is decorated with Vidhita’s own lacework. The entire place is embellished with designer Vidhita Raut’s fabrics as an extension of her work, to give a personalized feel to the store. The room has a chandelier made of bright strawberry salmon pink and lemon yellow threads. The idea behind this was to display the basic and cardinal raw materials used in the clothing industry.
The colour scheme of the space - a pastel palette, was ideal to showcase her garments that adhere to the similar colour tone. The whole place has certain key elements like use of pastel colours, acrylic mirror ceiling, embroidered drawers, mid-century drawer knobs, thread work chandeliers, etc.
