2012 Lightfair Innovation Awards

The Lightfair Innovation Awards program kicked off the May 9 opening of the annual trade show, held this year in Las Vegas. The program received 228 lighting-related product submissions in 14 categories. The two categories with the most entries—"conventional lamps, retrofit/replacement LED lamps," and "controls, daylighting integration, building/site automation systems, power distribution systems"—foreshadowed the prevalence of these product types displayed on the trade show floor by many of the 500-plus exhibitors. Villa Plans New Headquarters

Commercial lighting distributor Villa Lighting of St. Louis will begin construction of a 222,573-square-foot office/warehouse in March that will serve as its headquarters building, and expects to complete the $13-million project by the end of 2008. The 10.4-acre site is located in St. Louis. Villa will occupy 22,647 square feet of office space and 104,591 square feet of warehouse space, and will lease the remaining space. More
