The Lighting Research Center (LRC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will once again offer its LED Lighting Institute. The course dates are April 25 - 27, 2017. The 3-day seminar is designed for lighting industry professionals and focuses on “…the latest advances in solid-state lighting (SSL), Internet of Things (IoT), and manufacturing industries.” Participants will learn about the latest developments in LED and OLED technologies, and research and testing of products. Participants will also have the opportunity to design, build, and evaluate their own luminaire while using custom 3D printed components.

The LED Lighting Institute is held at the LRC in Troy, N.Y. Course instructors are members of the LRC faculty and include Andrew Bierman, Jean Paul Freyssinier, Naresh Narendran, Indika Perera, Mark Rea, and Yiting Zhu. The course fee is $1,400 if registration is completed by April 10, 2017; after April 10 the course fee is $1,500. Fees include meals and course materials. Registration requires completion of the registration form available on the LRC website. The 3-day seminar earns 22.25 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Health, Safety, Welfare Learning Units (LUs/HSW). Participants can also earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as well as LEED and NCQLP maintenance credits.
