Mark Loeffler, Director of
Atelier Ten’s New Haven, Conn., office has been named a 2014 LEED Fellow by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Loeffler is one of 48 individuals to receive this distinction this year “for their exceptional contributions to the green building community as well as for their significant achievements among LEED Professionals.”
The LEED Fellows selection process requires nomination by one’s peers and portfolio review. It also requires that the candidate have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the green building field and hold a LEED AP with specialty credential. The evaluation process is conducted by the LEED Fellow Evaluation Committee and supported by the Green Building Certification Institute.
“The 2014 LEED Fellows are utilizing their extensive knowledge and experience in green building to engage their colleagues, clients and communities to create a better built environment throughout the world,” said Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO and founding chair, USGBC. “We recognize Mark Loeffler’s commitment to LEED and celebrate his individual achievements.”
Loeffler has been working as an environmental and lighting design consultant for more than 25 years, and has worked on a wide range of notable high-performance buildings, as well as green building policy initiatives. He is a professional member of the International Association of Lighting Designers and the Illuminating Engineering Society and became LEED accredited in 2001. Loeffler joined Atelier Ten an international firm of environmental design consultants and building services engineers in 2006, where he has established a well-recognized consulting practice specializing in sustainable lighting design.
The 2014 LEED Fellows were recognized in New Orleans at the Greenbuild, which took place Oct. 22-24, 2014.
