Yukiko Yoshida Celebrates Anniversary at Auerbach Glasow French

The lighting designer has been with the San Francisco-based lighting design firm for 20 years.

Lighting designer Yukiko Yoshida, a senior associate with San Francisco-based lighting design firm Auerbach Glasow French has celebrated a milestone with the office: 20 years. During that tenure she has served as the project manager and designer for a number of prominent projects including the Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco; the BYU-Idaho Center Auditorium and HDTV Broadcast Center in Rexburg, Idaho; the Open Sea exhibit tank at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, Calif.; and the Tokyo Conference Centers at Ariake and Shinagawa in Japan.

Yoshida is a professional member of the International Association of Lighting Designers and received her Lighting Certification (LC) from the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions. She earned her BFA in interior design from the New York School of Interior Design and her Master of Science in lighting from the Lighting Research Center (LRC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. While at the LRC, Yoshida worked as a research assistant on several projects involving human factors in lighting, a subject that has had a significant impact on her design thinking as a lighting designer.

Neal Award for her Editor’s Comments in the category of Best Commentary/Blog, and in 2015, AL received a Jesse H. Neal Award for Best Media Brand (Overall Editorial Excellence).Prior to her entry into design journalism, Donoff worked in New York City architectural offices including FXFowle where she was part of the project teams for the Reuters Building at Three Times Square and the New York Times Headquarters. She is a graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, Me., and she earned her Master of Architecture degree from the School of Architecture at Washington University in St. Louis.
