Lighting designer Yukiko Yoshida, a senior associate with San Francisco-based lighting design firm Auerbach Glasow French has celebrated a milestone with the office: 20 years. During that tenure she has served as the project manager and designer for a number of prominent projects including the Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco; the BYU-Idaho Center Auditorium and HDTV Broadcast Center in Rexburg, Idaho; the Open Sea exhibit tank at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, Calif.; and the Tokyo Conference Centers at Ariake and Shinagawa in Japan.

Yoshida is a professional member of the International Association of Lighting Designers and received her Lighting Certification (LC) from the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions. She earned her BFA in interior design from the New York School of Interior Design and her Master of Science in lighting from the Lighting Research Center (LRC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. While at the LRC, Yoshida worked as a research assistant on several projects involving human factors in lighting, a subject that has had a significant impact on her design thinking as a lighting designer.

"Yukiko is a joy to work with in the studio and consistently receives accolades from our clients. Her scientific background informs her work and she is a thoughtful, creative designer,” said Patty Glasow, executive vice president of Auerbach Glasow French | Auerbach Pollock Friedlander in a press statement. “We hope to have the privilege of working with her for another 20 years.”
