The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) has announced two new products regarding rooftop photovoltaic installations: A daylong educational program and a new set of guidelines regarding system installation.
The educational seminar, "Rooftop Photovoltaics: Energizing Your Business," is available through NRCA University and is designed for rootfop contractors, designers, and specifiers. The course covers information regarding terminology, benefits, design considerations, construction details, code compliance, and business and legal issues associated with photovoltaic roof systems. The guidelines, entitled "Guidelines for Roof-mounted Photovoltaic System Installations," is a 25-page technical resource that examines best practice guidelines for low- and steep-slope roof ststems involved adhered or rack-mounted PV system installation.
