CalStar Products has created a masonry unit that performs like a concrete masonry unit (CMU) but has the aesthetic of brick masonry. With nominal sizes of 8" by 4" by 16" and 12" by 4" by 16", Thru-Wall Units are half as tall as typical CMUs. It comes with a flat finish face and a notched face to fill with mortar that emulates the look of brick. Made with a binder that contains 40% post-industrial recycled materials, the units do not require kiln-firing or Portland cement.
