How to cool data centers—which are the warehouses of the 21st century—in an energy-efficient manner has become a common design challenge. To capitalize on the effectiveness of ventilation systems that use a raised-floor plenum, Tate Access Floors created the Directional Perforated Access Floor Panel. The panel directs 93 percent of its airflow into the faces of the server racks and can achieve more than a 40% savings in annual fan energy consumption. Suited for use in 24"-square raised floor systems, the panels can cool more than 8 kW per rack. • tateinc.com
