The Stony Island Arts Bank building was constructed in 1923 and served as a community bank until the 1980s. The space was abandoned until Rebuild Foundation took over to restore it and repurpose as a contemporary art and cultural exhibition space. We spoke with Ken Stewart, CEO of Rebuild Foundation about the project during the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
