On Monday, the James Beard Foundation announced three winners in this year's Outstanding Restaurant Design Awards. Two New York City restaurants tied in the smaller category (75 seats and under): Bruno, designed by Demian Repucci Design, and Untitled, designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop with Cooper Robertson. Chicago's Cherry Circle Room, designed by Land and Sea Dept. and Mode Carpentry, won in the larger restaurant category (76 seats and over). The three winners were selected from six nominees announced in March.
The Outstanding Restaurant Design Awards are part of the foundation's annual awards in a variety of food-related industries, from restaurants to food writing. Back in March, the foundation also recognized the Four Seasons Restaurant with the first Design Icon Restaurant Award.
