The 2010 Ceramic Tiles of Italy Design Competition—sponsored by the Italian Trade Commission and Confindustria Ceramica—is accepting until February 19 entries from North American architects and designers who feature Italian ceramic tiles in their building projects.
Domestic and international residential, commercial, hospitality, and institutional projects completed between January 2005 and January 2010 (both new construction and renovations) are eligible. Entries will be judged on their overall creativity, functionality, and aesthetic appeal, as well as on their innovative use of tile, tile design, quality of installation, and how well the tile enhances the project.Winning projects will be announced at the Ceramic Tiles of Italy press conference at Coverings, to be held April 27–30 in Orlando, Fla. Winners in three categories—residential, commercial/hospitality, and institutional—will be awarded a $5,000 cash prize and a trip to Bologna, Italy, to attend Cersaie 2010.
