The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) currently is accepting public comments on the revisions to its LEED 2009 for Healthcare New Construction and Major Renovation rating system. Comments will be accepted until May 18. This is the second public comment period for LEED for Healthcare, which was revised to align with LEED 2009 requirements as well as to address public comments received during the first comment period.

Those wishing to comment should create a free site user profile at usgbc.org. Comments will be accepted only on the rating system components that have been adjusted. USGBC will respond to all comments on the draft and post both comments and responses on its Web site. If further substantive changes are made to the rating system following this comment period, a third public comment period will be conducted before the final draft is sent to USGBC membership for ballot.
