The Mexican architect was a pupil of Pritzker Prize winner Luis Barrágan, and carried out in his design aesthetics with bright colors, geometric shapes, and playful use of light and shadows. Firm Description

FROM THE FIRM:

Since our founding in 1965 by Ricardo Legorreta, Noé Castro and Carlos Vargas senior, Legorreta Arquitectos (now LEGORRETA®) we have managed to stay true to our original goal of creating the best architecture inspired by human values. In LEGORRETA we seek to create an architecture that meets the needs of society while contributing to building better cities. Delivering functionality, efficiency and cost control, we must design human and friendly environments, with atmospheres that convey peace, privacy and optimism.

During the sixties and seventies, we were recognized for our work in Mexico, like the Camino Real Hotel in Mexico City, Cancun and Ixtapa, The America Insurance offices, Banamex and IBM Mexico, laboratories for Smith & Kline and factories for Kodak, Nissan and Renault, as well as housing projects of social interest for the government agency Infonavit, and private residential projects.
