Project Description
The Addison is located just east of the popular and fast growing mixed use development in north Austin. To the east a new commuter rail line, retail immediately adjacent to the north and west threatened to block the multifamily development from public view, and a large power line easement. The Addison was designed to be an oasis, a great place to live within walking distance of the heart of The Domain, but away from the noise and crowds that the mixed use development creates. The project is 3 stories with surface parking and private single-car tuck under garages. Visitors and residents are amazed at the grand resort pool, expansive wellness center featuring spin, yoga, pilates, and other spa-like activities. The club room is designed as a collaborative work and social space to cater to residents who work at nearby tech firms so they can enjoy working from home in a 'coffee shop' atmosphere, creating that 'third place' that people seek. The project design takes advantage of the existing creek and numerous large trees by saving the landscape in its natural state, surrounding them with buildings and quiet amenities to maintain the natural feel of the site. The new road is lined with stoops leading to the front doors of dwelling units to reinforce the neighborhood feel. Inside the units are spacious, filled with light and have added amenities like the Vertical Spa, a tub shower combination pioneered by JHP that makes the master bath feel like a day spa with separate tub and shower in line with a glass partition.
