Project Description
This spectacular entertaining inspired vaulted wooden ceiling octagonal dining room features a tongue and groove ceiling made from pine with a dark stain, 8 custom made uplights around the perimeter accentuating the octagon room and fine wood detail with a beautiful hickory wood floor with beveled edge grooves, 20 Marvin Integrity windows provide ample lighting for the area along with a custom chandelier featuring 5 individual pendant lights that provide illumination for this elegant space off of the back of the house to dine or entertain in. The dining space looks out onto the landscaping and covered lanai on the rear of the home creating an indoor/outdoor entertaining space.
The planning objective and major design behind this entertaining inspired vaulted wooden ceiling octagonal dining room was to create a nice singular dining space in the house that would take advantage of the views off of the back of the house, as opposed to the front of the house where you are looking at other houses. With the dining room set up the way we have it you have a nicer, intimate, more comfortable dining room off of the back of the house with a great outdoor/indoor entertaining space connected to the kitchen and lanai. I can only speak for our area market, but we have not seen anything with the kind of thoughtfulness and design that went into our vaulted wooden octagonal dining room. We have had a very positive response from potential clients and the design philosophy behind this dining room has brought us many new build jobs. Also, 80% of our clients no longer use a formal dining space and so this allows them to not have wasted space in a room they don’t use. A constraint when vaulting large amounts of space on the 1st floor is the need for an efficient design on the 2nd floor.
