Project Description
Auburn University College of Agriculture has been at the forefront of innovation in feeding communities, and exploring safe, sustainable, and healthy methods of providing food supply to a growing global population. To make an even greater impact on poultry and food science, the Department of Poultry Science decided to develop a state-of-the-art research campus to help students and staff study quality control, product development, production methods, and more. A pivotal component of that campus is the administration and education building.
Ghafari provided architecture and engineering services for the 8,500 SF poultry science administration and education building. The administration building serves as the gateway to the campus, providing a location where guests and students can cross over into the site’s bio-secure area. The facility houses faculty offices, conference rooms, break areas, a large instructional space, and locker room facilities for staff. Our design also incorporates a visitor’s center, which includes the building’s main lobby. This area showcases poultry science pioneers and celebrates the achievements of industry leaders and donors.
Working closely with the university, we developed a design that promotes collaboration and provides space for advancement in agricultural sciences. The new administration building ties together campus resources, offering a cohesive and dynamic study environment where students and faculty can come together to evolve the food industry, helping to feed the world.
