Project Description
The Blackwood Settlement is a residence located on a pristine historic family ranch in Southwestern Montana. This contemporary farmhouse, with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, has drawn from authentic elements from the ranch. It is designed to take maximum advantage of the agricultural farmland that surrounds it. Design elements throughout the house are inspired by the heritage of the Granary and Farmhouse of the historic Blackwood Ranch. Each of the rooms, public and private, have a connecting outside space to enjoy. Interior accents include reclaimed timbers, light fixtures fashioned from team yoke, and incorporated corral fencing. The chef's kitchen is at the heart of the home. The living room and screened in porch both feature wood burning fireplaces The dining room opens at each end with french doors, leading to panoramic field and mountain views; the ox yoke lamp over the dining table illuminaes the dining room Each bedroom has a covered deck area. Outside gathering areas are located on both South and North sides of the house to take advantage of the panoramaic vistas of Mt. Blackmore and the Spanish Peaks. Materals include wood siding, standing seam steel roof and corrugated metal roof, reclaimed timber elements, stained concrete floors, cork floor in the play loft, and textured walls.
