Project Description
The Boston Square Together team hosted three open houses to gather community feedback on a development project intended to take place on an approximately 9-acre site in the business district of Boston Square, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Feedback from these events, from neighborhood residents, business owners, employees and churchgoers, was used to refine the BST team’s vision for the community, and presented to the city council with the aim to break ground with over 200 units of housing in 2020. Future amenities will include a community park, with an amphitheater, a community garden, a playground, and a creek with native edge plantings; a food hall, with an incubator to launch retail and food-based businesses; a community hub for gathering, events and worship; and an early childhood learning center, to provide affordable childcare for the community.
