Project Description
The new Bioengineering building was designed to be a significant presence on the North edge of the CSU campus, incorporating the best of the campus design vocabulary while giving the College of Engineering a new image for the future. In addition, the conceptual design integrated the best of establishing sustainable design thinking to allow the Scott Building to visually express its commitment to the potential of a Net Zero energy facility.
SLATERPAULL Architects, in association with RATIO Architects of Indianapolis, were selected to prepare an advanced program and a conceptual design suitable to set the design goals for the project and create building images for procuring public and private funding for the project. In 2014, SLATERPAULL merged with Hord Coplan Macht.
The 2009 detailed programming process established the design criteria for the best fundamental solution for the College of Engineering.
