Project Description
An outstanding setting on a historic golf course within a slightly narrow lot inspired the design of this Atlanta home. The owners sought to build a house that was streamlined, modern and spatially compact yet suited its historic neighborhood. Harrison Design, which served as architect and interior designer, conceived the three-story residence as though it were an aerie, with indoor-outdoor space at each elevation, including the roof. A covered porch serves as the front entrance, with glass exposing the interior’s industrial feel and open metal-and-wood staircase. The older-style brick on the central front exterior carries into the entry hall and repeats on the covered terrace and chimney on the backside of the house. The height of the home’s vertical orientation is minimized by below-ground garages and mudroom, and the series of setbacks of the terraces and roofline.
