Project Description
Kahler Slater provided program validation and design services for Florida Gulf Coast University's College of Health Professionals Building. The new building houses the School of Nursing and the School of Health and Rehabilitation and offers new learning spaces dedicated to providing students with a state-of-the-art technology, including human simulation laboratories.
The comprehensive facility includes laboratory, classroom and office spaces that are environmentally sensitive and support collaboration and wellness. Areas for undergraduate and graduate students are consolidated and faculty offices are together in one building. The building is designed to maximize cross-collaboration of health sciences students and faculty. It includes an advising center and state-of-the-art practice and simulation labs for nursing, athletic training, human performance, clinical laboratory sciences, occupational and physical therapy. Kahler Slater completed this project in association with Harvard Jolly. The Florida Gulf Coast University College of Health Professionals Building is LEED Gold Certified.
