Galaxy Digital, a leader in digital assets and blockchain technologies, serves as the bridge between the crypto world and traditional finance. Their new 36,000-square-foot office in Battery Park City, New York, reflects the office leaders' passion for science fiction and architecture. Visitors arriving at the elevator lobby are greeted by a custom digital ceiling displaying a scrolling animation of the office's core principles.

The office space centers around a striking welcome area and reception lobby, featuring rippling cast plaster panels. This custom plaster work results from years of proprietary research and collaboration with plaster artisans, employing unorthodox casting processes. The design uses thoughtful mirroring, rotation, and translation of a single plaster panel type to eliminate visual repetition, creating an alien, monolithic relief. The reception area serves as the main arrival point for guests and an impromptu meeting spot for employees. A custom rug complements the unique profile of the lobby, enhancing the softness of the futuristic furniture and playful art objects.

Galaxy aimed to create a workspace that motivates employees and fosters collaboration. The open office space wraps around the central core, with vivid pathways leading to other areas, adorned with subtle mission statement signage to reinforce shared purpose. A gradient carpet organizes the open office space, framing prime locations and guiding circulation by reinforcing work areas and walkways.

In the Work Café, bronze drop link curtains suspend above comfortable banquette seating, creating a softly lit ambiance. A central communal table provides opportunities for lunch or group work in a sophisticated setting, while the curvilinear bar serves as a versatile meeting space or a spot for coworkers to relax later in the day.

The Lounge adjacent to the Work Café can be annexed to form an all-hands gathering space for the entire office. Designed with breakout spaces and informal seating areas, the office encourages inter-team collaboration. This flexible organization promotes greater autonomy, creativity, and innovation, reflecting Galaxy's belief in the power of decentralized networks.
