Project Description
Within a 1902 industrial loft building in Greenwich Village, Raad’s clean, sophisticated gut renovation of this full floor, 25’ x 94’ space achieves a supremely efficient use of space with innovative, custom furniture and fixtures. The heart of the apartment is a minimalist kitchen/dining area, dominated by a raad-designed 23 foot floating Corian island with a bold cantilever. This island was custom built inside the apartment to be seamless and functions as a dining table and kitchen workspace -- perfectly configured to balance family meals with larger, more formal gatherings. Providing a splash of color and whimsy is the children’s tree house-fort, complete with indoor slide. The second half of the apartment houses a guest washroom, 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths as well as a full-size laundry room, which continue the Zen palette of stone and wood. The millwork in the bedrooms is hand crafted walnut, the light is supplied by a Linestra lamp and a Discoco pendant light -- in addition to 4 large southern facing windows. In the bathroom is a Terramai teak-lined wet area with a Davinci Collection shower and Zuma Wetstyle tub. Abundant, fully integrated storage has been inserted throughout the apartment.
