Project Description
FROM THE ARCHITECTS:
Located to the West of the Missouri River across the border with Kansas City (MO), the Northeast Area of Kansas City (KC) extends over ~7,000 acres with 20,000 residents and including a major industrial area – Fairfax with 10,000 employees.
In 2017, the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas requested proposals to develop a Master Plan for the Northeast Area, after almost ten years after the completion of their 2008 City-wide Master Plan.
During this year-long planning process led by Camiros Ltd., Borderless collaborated in the community participatory activities as well as developing the planning themes, principles and redevelopment strategies for this expansive area.
