Project Description
The purpose of this finished basement remodel project was to expand the homeowners’ wine room into the unused existing craft room creating a unique intimate space. The scope included the client’s existing wine and craft rooms within their finished basement, 221 square feet. The strategy was to create a luxurious wine grotto retreat for two within existing conditions. Creating a feeling of escape to a relaxed world of wine and comfort, making it feel like a part of the existing space as well as like a luxury retreat. The result is an incredible, completely custom, one of a kind space, which delicately balances the feeling of the rest of the home while remaining a private retreat. We removed an unused space, the craft room, and created the most loved room in the house. With two wine chillers, storage for over 250 bottles, a serving station, TV and seating area they never have to leave their favorite room! The client’s reaction could not have been better. They even invited the entire team to come enjoy the space after it was finished, and of course, wine was served. This project was a metamorphosis. We created an engaging, loved space from an unused waste. Some much needed wine storage was created through an aesthetically delightful design. The challenges in creating a rustic and modern wine grotto were met with fierce persistence and resolve to bring the design to fruition. Our clients could not be happier with the result and utilize their new space continuously.
