Project Description
This new west metro home is beautifully equipped to handle the varied activities of its creative owners while also taking advantage of its unique site. Quietly positioned overlooking a scenic marsh, light abounds in the main spaces of the home that also can serve as a musical teaching and performance space. Acoustical panels, clerestory windows and integrated custom lighting systems all work in harmony to make this space not only beautiful but highly functional. Anchoring it all at one end of the kitchen is a custom, wood burning pizza oven. Surrounding this main living space are the bedroom suits, a music teaching room, hard working mudroom and even an office that also serves as an electronics lab and workshop. The pinwheel layout of the home around this central space helps to not only create a sense of entry along the street facing façade, but helps to create a courtyard feel at the back of the house; sheltered and focused on the open spaces at the back of the lot. Solar panels and an herb garden for homemade pizzas rest atop the house and a custom backlit art installation at the front entry help to make the exterior of this house as unique as the interior.
