Project Description
Mountain Park Health is a federally funded, non-profit organization known for providing affordable health care. The Tempe Mountain Park Health Center is an adaptive re-use of an existing ‘big box’ boat dealership that has been transformed into a “true expression of health.” The design includes a 1/3-mile walking path, recreation area and fruit orchard to promote community engagement and wellness. On the interior, the design supports highly collaborative patient care, while non-traditional spaces adjacent to clinical areas support staff needs and enrich their daily workflows. The large ‘living room' waiting area features digital check-in and flexible seating areas. Exam rooms with soundproof sliding glass doors are 30% larger than standard to better accommodate families and care teams. Patient and community spaces are bright and energetic, creating an asset for Tempe, and an unexpected patient experience.
