Project Description
Drawing from the design aesthetic of their family legacy, Ignazio and Maggio Cipriani are conceptualizing Mr. C Residences as an evolution of the Mr. C approach into a serviced residential experience. Developed by Terra’s David Martin, the tower marks the first large-scale residential development for the Mr. C brand, known for their iconic restaurants, landmark banquet spaces and residences.
“The design concept for the building is bringing Mr. C’s modern European elegant identity to life, merging comfort and style together in a chic setting recognized for its impeccable design,” says Ignazio Cipriani, co-founder of Mr. C. “From the colors to the rich materials, finishes and craftsmanship throughout the spaces, all of the components are being held to the highest standards.”
International architecture firm, Arquitectonica, was tasked with the exterior designs which pay homage to the area’s connection to the water. The architectural profile and materiality of the tower embrace a nautical vocabulary that is inspired by naval architecture. Warm bronze-toned mullions are a nod to the highly polished wood of luxury yachts. The roof element is a grand gesture of architectural prowess like a naval bow and the sweeping curvilinear gestures address long-distance clarity.
On the inside, Will Meyer, of Meyer Davis, is working closely with Mr. C to outfit the residences and common areas with designs inspired by the Italian Riviera in the 1950s and Miami’s Art Deco.
“We are excited to unveil our design for these residences and enviable amenities, alongside such an esteemed team of creative minds. We took the opportunity to introduce the Mr. C lifestyle and aesthetic to Coconut Grove, and combined it with our own refined sensibility and attention to detail. It was important to connect to local sailing culture, as well as the boldness of Miami - a city we know so well. The quality, palette, and attitude of this property is bar none,” says Will Meyer, co-founder of Meyer Davis.
The look and feel takes cues from the surrounding maritime influences with yacht-inspired shapes, rich natural materials and masterful craftsmanship touch every detail of the design.
“Mr. C’s unique location at the juncture of South Bayshore Drive where it turns to follow the coastline created the opportunity for a dramatic architectural approach,” says Bernardo Fort-Brescia, founding principal of Arquitectonica. “As one approaches the site from downtown, a pure sculptural profile rises from a foreground of lush tropical landscaping that is the essence of Coconut Grove’s identity.”
Mr. C Residences will boast several premium touchless technologies for its building security and parking operations. Residents will have access to high-speed internet and broadband services allowing them ability to roam from their residences throughout the property, amenity floors and parking decks without interruption while ensuring they are in contact with building operations via their mobile devices, whether on property or remote. The building will house 108 luxury units and is slated for completion in 2022.
