Project Description
Piedmont Walk is a diverse mixed-use development of creative small businesses, apartments, and townhomes situated on a very walkable stretch of Piedmont Ave. Located at the north end of Piedmont Avenue, one of Oakland’s most successful commercial districts, Piedmont Walk takes advantage of Oakland's unique mini lot subdivision rules, which allows for individual homeownership where it did not previously exist. The project is a hybrid development consisting of 3 small live/work triplexes facing the street and 4 single family townhomes in the rear of the site, all of which sit on 7 fee simple lots. The architectural expression presents a modern interpretation of the commercial streetscape, but with a horizontal interplay of bay window and balcony projections, which engages the adjacent neighborhood context and character.
