Project Description

FROM 7 DIRECTIONS ARCHITECTS AND PLANNERS:

Mr. Glenn is the Design Architect for this culturally-responsive transit-oriented development for El Centro de la Raza, a 40 year old comprehensive social services non-profit and hub for Seattle and Martin Luther King, Jr. County’s Latino community. This new 112-unit mixed-use affordable housing project in the heart of the Beacon Hill neighborhood in the City of Seattle is located on the south one-acre parcel of El Centro de la Raza’s land, which is directly adjacent to the Sound Transit Beacon Hill Link Light Rail Station. The project’s central cultural center and plaza will provide the community significant public space for gatherings, events, an outdoor marketplace, and performance areas. Mr. Glenn is currently leading the integration of culturally-specific artwork throughout the plaza and buildings to enrich the project with a strong cultural identity for the Latino community and to celebrate El Centro’s long tradition of working for social justice for all peoples in the region.
