Project Description
The Spring District Mobility Hub is a tiny workhorse of a building. It is a bespoke commuter transit facility, with transit-adjacent parking for over 450 bikes, a bike shop, and end-of-trip locker and shower rooms for active commuters and transit employees. It is a hub for social interaction, with adaptable core and shell retail spaces designed to accommodate the small format grab and go grocer, sidewalk-oriented cafés, and a rooftop restaurant and bar. It’s durable metal cladding follows salmon-safe practices; its green roofs discharge clean, filtered rainwater to Bellevue’s Sturtevant Creek drainage basin. And it is a new waypoint for a newly emerging neighborhood - a re-interpretation of the district’s industrial history, adapted to contemporary life.
