Project Description
The Brix at Midtown is a vibrant new apartment community for young professionals and students designed by Lord Aeck Sargent (LAS), A Katerra Company, to reflect the lively downtown area of Grand Rapids, Mich., which is experiencing a time of impressive growth rates in population. The complex, strategically situated near Grand Rapids Medical Mile, is approximately a 10-minute walk from downtown shops, restaurants, bars, parks and art venues. The number of floor plans to choose from (29 in total) is unique to multi-family living, a result of LAS working with the unique shape of the property boundaries, contextual responses to the surrounding buildings and a testament to the firm’s well-known expertise in adapting to the space, environment and needs of the client. The indoor common spaces and corridors are a dynamic blend of mid-century design with an essence of lake lodge decor, which nods to Grand Rapids’ proximity to The Great Lakes and its history of furniture manufacturing. The complex has more amenities and common space than comparable offerings in the area, including a sprawling lounge with business center, coffee bar and two-sided fire pit; a two-story fitness center; heated outdoor pool; game room; golf simulator and plenty of luscious green space to provide entertainment and relaxation. Dog-walking and wash areas, bike storage and repair areas, and gated garage parking round out the experience. The units all feature an open-living concept and lots of natural lighting complimented with upscale, highly contrasting interior finishings, such as dark grey doors, white trim and off-white walls with accents of teal. Each unit has its own balcony or patio.
