Project Description
The University of Florida has a new eco-friendly, highly sustainable, athletic-focused, Gator recruiting magnet. The design includes the Gator Room, expansion of the strength & conditioning room – doubling its original size, creation of an impressive entry, hall of fame & lobby area leading to football offices which will greet recruits, parents and donors. Additional WOW factor comes with the complex’s energy-saving features, which exceed state and national standards by 35%. Contributing to the energy savings are efficient lighting, light-colored roofing and concrete pavement on the plaza; low flow fixtures, dual-flush toilets, regional materials, low-e glazing, recycling of 75% of construction waste and a green roof with palm trees. Additionally, 100% of the building’s irrigation is reclaimed water.
