Project Description
Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture partnered with Robert A.M. Stern Architects on the design for the new College of Business at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Located in the heart of the university campus, this thoughtfully conceived building contains 240,000 square feet of space dedicated to interactive learning and collaboration. Classroom spaces integrate cutting edge technology that can support current and future needs and that are flexible to allow for diverse learning arrangements. Informal lounge areas are scattered throughout the building, giving students options when seeking their ideal study environment. The multi-functional building also includes space for student support services, faculty and staff offices, and two auditoriums where the college can host conferences and other events. The collaborative design relationship between Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture and Robert A.M. Stern Architects allowed for the creation of a dynamic design that strikes a gentle balance with the adjacent campus fabric, including the busy 14th Street corridor, and that will remain viable well into the future.
