Project Description
FROM THE ARCHITECTS:
Based in West London, the Yoox Net-A-Porter Technology Centre unifies the global fashion retailer's UK technology teams in a 70,000 sq ft office, housing 500 staff a stones throw from the company’s HQ in Westfield shopping centre.
Occupying the former BBC Media Works building at White City Place, the tech centre has transformed the space to embrace the architectural values of adaptability, flexibility and sustainability. These concepts are embodied through the use of natural materials, ample greenery, and innovative furniture that facilities different modes of work.
The layout and materiality of the technology centre is reminiscent of a ‘warp and weft’ approach. Breakout social areas with comfortable seating sit naturally amongst formal meeting spaces and innovation rooms, while timber, concrete, velvet, leather, felt, bronze, and ceramics intermingle with one another, delivering a luxurious and refined feel.
By incorporating adaptive space to promote flexible ways of working and future growth, as well as best-in-class mobile and IT capabilities, the highly specific requirements of the Yoox Net-A-Porter technology team are met at all levels.
“This project emerged out of deep discussions with Federico Marchetti, and it has been a rewarding process to work with a client who champions quality design. The resulting interior design delivers an inspiring environment for an agile and global workforce, maximising technology and providing a flexible space for the future.”
