Thoughtful, artful use of windows and doors can mean the difference between a so-so building and one that inspires and captures the imagination. The 10 projects recently selected for awards in Marvin Windows and Doors’ 2010 myMarvin Architect’s Challenge each use fenestration to great effect, creating welcoming exteriors and interiors of beauty, warmth, and delight. The annual competition recognizes the exceptional design and execution of projects that use the company’s products.
The winners were chosen by a jury of noted architects: Carson Looney, FAIA, Looney Ricks Kiss, Memphis, Tenn.; William Kreager, FAIA, Mithun, Seattle; and Mark McInturff, FAIA, McInturff Architects, Bethesda, Md.
