Ceramic Tile Converts Pollution

CUARCITA-CERACASA-BIONICTIL.jpg(200)Earlier this year, Tile of Spain manufacturer Ceracasa announced the development of Bionictile, a ceramic external cladding product that reportedly removes harmful nitrous oxide pollution from the air and transforms it into a beneficial chemical for plant growth. Now, the Spanish tile manufacturer has partnered with Pantheon Floor Solutions to bring the product to the U.S. market. Bionictile uses a process called photocatalysis that combines enamel, additives, sunlight, and humidity to deconstruct nitrous oxide, which contributes to acid rain and global warming.
