Sustainability Committee Formed

Sustainability Committee Formed

1 MIN READ

West Conshohocken, Pa.-based ASTM International has formed ASTM Committee E60 on Sustainability. This standards-development initiative results from the cooperative efforts of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., and cross-industry stakeholders who share mutual goals for global sustainable development. The committee is a forum where diverse stakeholders come together to create the consensus standards that will promote and integrate sustainable development across multiple industry sectors.

It will build on the work of multiple ASTM technical committees that have developed standards to address various issues of sustainability, such as ASTM Subcommittee E06.71 on Sustainability. The ongoing activities of E06.71, including a task group on Green Meetings and Events, now will be coordinated by Committee E60.
