Project Description
Priorities
- Create a more contemporary master bathroom; improve energy efficiency; maintain the original window location
Solutions
To modernize their master suite’s bathroom,
the owners of a 1916 traditional classical house in Piedmont, Calif.,
decided that they not only wanted to update their master bath but also
wanted to make it as “green” as possible.
Designer Maurice
Levitch created an enchanting and comfortable spa-like atmosphere while
maintaining the existing bath’s footprint and keeping the original
window locations (a must-have for the client). A sleek standalone tub
surrounded by crystalline green tile beckons, while a glass-enclosed
shower replete with Grohe fixtures and teak wood flooring promises a
luxurious bathing experience.
Judges’ Comments
“When
compared to the eclectic, somewhat disparate combination of elements in
the original design, the new bath is simple, visually larger, and
relaxing.”
