Project Description

The Novus ruler is a fine measuring and line-drawing
instrument made for creatives.

London, UK – MundusTNA has created a revolutionary professionally individually crafted ruler that
boasts classic old-world charm.

On March 26 2021 – MundusTNA launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund the production
of Novus, a re-design of the classic staple, which has transformed the humble ruler into an
accurate, aesthetically balanced piece of stationery art.

Having previously sold tools to many of Savile Row’s leading tailoring houses, MundusTNA’s
latest project the Novus, offers a functional improvement on the standard ruler in terms of
weight, pressure distribution, precise measurements, a tactile grip, zero warping and the
elimination of parallax error.

Created by a UK based bespoke tailor, Emmanuel Osei wanted to bring back a beautiful yet
functional piece of equipment from times gone by. “I’ve used tools that were full of
character, but having served their time faithfully being passed down for generations, they
were no longer fit for purpose” said Emmanuel. “I found that the majority of current rulers
were frustrating and uninspiring to use, so I created an accurate yet aesthetically balanced
beautiful piece of stationery art like nothing before!”

The Novus ruler comes with a brass scale featuring a trapezoid cross-section, and a smaller,
inverted trapezium wooden handle for grip. The trapezium-shape of the brass ruler allows it
to have much more tapered edges than a sheet-metal, plastic, or wooden scale. With an
edge that’s as thin as 0.5mm, your measurements practically touch the paper for better
accuracy. The trapezium-shape even enhances readability, putting the numeric’ at an exact
28.8° angle that’s easier for you to see from all angles, and eliminates the warping that often
happens when you apply pressure on regular flat metal rulers.

The handle on the Novus ruler gives it a perfect ergonomic grip, allowing you to hold onto
and quickly re-position the stationery instrument without fumbling around . You can
customize your ruler’s length and width, and even choose the scale/units of measurement
you want engraved into the metal ruler. To cap things off, Novus offers a choice between 4
types of wood for the ruler handle, from lighter Oak and Mahogany to darker Walnut and
Ebonized Oak.

Novus is available to pre-order. Perks include a discounted
Early Bird ruler for £180 (Approx $250) saving 40% off retail, including a 30cm Novus line
drawing Instrument individually numbered in solid brass, choice of handle option, width and
the option to simplify rule markings and free worldwide delivery.
