Suitable for residential and some commercial applications, SmartSide Perfection Shingle is an engineered wood–fiber lap shingle manufactured by Nashville, Tenn.–based Louisiana-Pacific (LP) Corp. Manufactured with LP’s proprietary SmartGuard process, the shingle resists impact, freeze-thaw cycles, humidity, and fungal decay. A standard shingle measures 7.8″ wide by 4′ tall, and 0.37″ thick. Pre-primed for durable paint adhesion, the shingles come in various styles, including classic cedar-grain texture. lpcorp.com
