AIA Los Angeles presented awards to 21 local firms last week during its annual design awards ceremony. The evening’s program migrated through three historic Los Angeles venues, with pre-reception cocktails at the Bradbury Building, the ceremony at the Million Dollar Theater, and a dinner party at Grand Central Market.
The Design Awards ceremony, hosted by Getty Center’s CEO James Cuno, awarded firms with three tiers of recognition including honor, merit, and citation. Jennifer Yoos, FAIA, a principal at VJAA in Minneapolis; Patricia Oliver, FAIA, Dean of the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture at the University of Houston; and Georgina Huljich, of Los Angeles-based firm P-A-T-T-E-R-N-S, filled the judging panel.
In addition to the Design Awards,12 upcoming, unbuilt projects received Next LA Awards, and 14 Presidential Honor Awards were granted to Los Angeles design community executives.
