The number of highly respected honors that are up for grabs in the AIA Committee on the Environment's (COTE) annual Top Ten Green Projects Awards just got a little bigger—but the winner of the newest award will certainly have to earn it.

During this year's Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, AIA COTE advisory group members launched the AIA COTE Top Ten Plus award. Starting in 2013, one award will be given out each year to a past AIA COTE Top Ten Award recipient. To qualify, submitting firms must provide verifiable baseline design metrics and a minimum of one year of actual performance data.

In addition, AIA COTE is now accepting submissions for the 2013 AIA COTE Top Ten Green Projects Awards. All submissions must be received by 8 p.m. EST on Jan. 25, 2013. Projects for the Top Ten Awards must be built and completed after 2003, and at least three months prior to Jan. 25, 2013. New buildings, renovations, and restorations are all eligible for entry.

More information on submitting for all of the COTE awards is available at aia.org/cote.
