The American Institute of Architects is now accepting entries for its 2024 COTE Top Ten Awards. The annual program, which officially began its latest cycle on Aug. 8, "was founded on the idea that sustainability is essential to design excellence," according to an AIA description.
Competitors have until 5 p.m. ET on Oct. 26 to submit their projects, which will be evaluated by a jury. Per AIA, submissions—which can include finished new buildings and renovations, among other project types—will be judged on factors such as "a sense of place and purpose, of community and history, performance, aesthetics, community connection and resilience, and stewardship of the natural environment."
In 2023, winning entries included a nature center in St. Louis Park, Minn., by HGA; a transit center in Greenfield, Mass., by Charles Rose Architects; a park in San Antonio, by Lake|Flato and Matsys; and more. A full list of past recipients can be found here.
