Watch and interact with a Lite-Brite-like spectacle along Boston's Charles River May 7–8 as part of FAST Light, the finale of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's 150th anniversary celebration. Some 20 architecture and art installations include "Light Drift" by Meejin Yoon, principal of Höweler + Yoon Architecture and MY Studio, shown, which comprises 90 glowing orbs in the river that change color as passersby sit on and touch orbs along the riverbank. "Liquid Archive" by Nader Tehrani, founder of Office dA and NADAAA, is a large inflatable screen that will be anchored to a floating platform on the river and serve as a backdrop for projections. "MIT Soft Rockers" by Sheila Kennedy, AIA, of Kennedy Violich Architecture, are energy charging stations that can run any USB device while users lean into the chairs and activate the energy feedback loop that changes according to sun orientation.
