Fashion designer Thom Browne's name is associated with suits. Suits are associated with work. Work is associated with desks. As this year's Design Miami/ Basel’s Design at Large curator, Browne combined all three in a performance on Monday at the show's vernissage.

Browne's installation, which is on display until the fair closes on Sunday, features 15 vintage desks from the last century, arranged in three neat rows of five, by designers such as Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, and Ron Arad. Browne also installed his set from a 2014 runway show adjacent to the desk designs. At the fair's vernissage on Monday night, suit-clad architecture and design students marched around the installation before sitting down in unison to work.
