Sneak Peek: James Corner Field Operations’ Summer Installation at the National Building Museum

The carpet of the National Building Museum’s Great Hall is currently covered in a blue wood floor, and hollow polycarbonate pyramid structures sit partially constructed across the massive space. On July 2, the Washington, D.C., museum will open “Icebergs,” a 12,540-square-foot installation designed by New York–based James Corner Field Operations. ARCHITECT took a tour of the under-construction installation on Wednesday.
