This week, we're sharing projects from Scottsdale, Ariz., to Seoul, South Korea, Park City, Utah, and Richmond, British Columbia, with several stops in between. In addition to the projects that we give more detailed coverage, we highlight work that architecture firms share with us every day through the Project Gallery, the user-generated portion of ARCHITECT's web site. To date, we have more than 15,000 projects.
This weekly roundup showcases some of the coolest new projects to be added to the gallery—thanks to architects like you.

City of Scottsdale, Fraesfield and Granite Mountain Trailhead
Scottsdale, Ariz.
SmithGroup
"The design of two unique, picturesque, and disturbed trailhead sites would provide a one-of-a-kind design opportunity to restore the natural habitat while expanding and facilitating access into the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Through an integrated design process, the team was able to work with the natural processes of the land as an understanding of the natural environment guided the design of sustainable amenities that provide refuge, shade, and shelter."

Imagine Village Apartments
Lancaster, Calif.
Relativity Architects
"Imagine Village is a permanent-supportive, affordable housing community of 75 units for veterans and families. Developed by Abbey Road and Abode Communities, this facility is also home to Penny Lane Centers for adoption/foster care, as well as support services, community areas, and extensive landscaping. Part of a larger complex of non-profit companies, it is designed with the environment in mind. Utilizing the vast site, a balance of density and open space was achieved by programming multiple buildings with resident and unit types."

Meadow Haus
Park City, Utah
Klima Architecture
"Designed and built to Passive House standards, the spaces of this home have been articulated to see over and around neighboring homes to the southern mountain views. The flat roofs are activated with rooftop decks that expand the livable space via massive lift and slide glass doors."

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Knoxville
Pittsburgh
GBBN Architects
"This renovation transforms a 1962 Brutalist concrete masonry building into a warm and inviting destination for a diverse, working class community. The new design now facilitates views to the street and brings daylight to the interior. The dramatic form of the building, including the two large roof monitors, was maintained while enhancing the interior spaces. Small daylight-filled additions at the front and the side of the original building maximize the interior plan, providing a dedicated area for teens and an expanded children’s area with an outdoor deck."

The Playground
Seoul, South Korea
G/O Architecture
"Embracing all features of support spaces that used to be positioned separately, The Playground works as the main space of the office. Rather than distinguishing office, resting, support, and meeting areas, space is arranged to prevent a specifically divided space from defining the nature of work within itself, therefore a resting space can become a meeting space, and storage can become a meeting space generating ideas."

"Interweaving green space with exploratory moments, the project will offer varied nature-infused experiences that invite discovery, collaboration, and reflection. The headquarters will host The Helix, an indoor-outdoor building open to the public that merges alternative workspaces with two spiraling, lush, fresh air 'hill climbs' to foster creativity and wellness."

Richmond Olympic Oval
Richmond, British Columbia
StructureCraft
"The Richmond Olympic Speedskating Oval is a world class facility built for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Its all-timber roof is the largest of its kind in the world. In conjunction with architects CannonDesign, we proposed the unique panelized roof system comprised purely of standard dimensional '2x4' lumber."

LG Chem Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing Facility
Holland, Mich.
Ghafari Associates
"Our design had to consider a variety of operations, including ion powder mixing, battery formation and aging areas, electrolyte mixing and baking ovens, inspection, testing, warehousing, and shipping areas. The production facility hosts four-story high hazard chemical mixing towers employing the latest technology in fire protection and explosion venting, along with acetone storage, distribution and recovery systems, and hazardous waste storage."

Glossier
New York
Peterson Rich Office
Designed by the New York–based firm Peterson Rich Office, this project serves as the flagship retail location for Glossier, a popular skincare and beauty brand. Spread across three floors, the 5,500-square-foot space focuses on community, aiming to provide Glossier shoppers with a tangible space to "have a collective and interactive experience."
