After The New York Times published a report yesterday detailing sexual harassment allegations by five women against famed architect Richard Meier, FAIA, Sotheby’s auction house opted to close a show at its S2 Gallery in New York that featured collages, encaustics, and silkscreens that Meier produced between 2014 and 2017.
“Under the circumstances, and in consultation with the Meier family, the decision has been made to close our exhibition early,” Sotheby’s said in a statement.
The Meier-dedicated show opened on Feb. 28 and was slated to run through March 29. The exhibition’s page has been removed from Sotheby’s website.
